Tickle’s motion was:
That MidCoast Council makes representation to the Hunter Joint Organisation member Councils, for them to consider direct communication to their respective State Members, calling for a review by the Minister for Local Government to the 12th January 2011 Ministerial Orders with respect to Investment Policy for Councils in NSW, noting that;
1. The current orders allow for Councils’ Investment Policy to include direct investment to Government Bonds, however it does not allow for investment to Managed Australian Bond Funds.
2. To remedy this, seek to have Ministerial Approval for inclusion of investment to Managed Australian Bond Funds.
3. That MidCoast Council communicate to the Member for Myall Lakes, seeking representation in this matter to the Minister for Local Government.
4. That Council seek to vary the Motion submitted to the NSW Local Government Conference to pick up the background notes and the revised motion listing dot points 1 & 2.

My motion was:
That Council:
1. Establish a Roads Committee as an Advisory Committee of Council to provide strategic guidance, expert advice, and advocacy in relation to the condition, maintenance, and improvement of Council’s road network.
2. Determine the membership of the Roads Committee as follows:
• Up to three Councillors, including a Chair and Deputy Chair appointed by Council.
• The General Manager (or delegate), Director of Infrastructure and Assets, and relevant
Council staff as determined by the General Manager.
• A representative from Transport for NSW (or other relevant State Government road agency).
• One independent expert, being a former public servant with direct experience advising
NSW Roads Ministers.
• Up to eight community representatives with relevant expertise in transport, engineering, agriculture, heavy vehicle use, or local business.
3. Note that the Roads Committee will meet quarterly, or more often if required, and will report its recommendations to Council through the Committee Chair.
4. Provide secretarial support to the Roads Committee through existing Council resources.
5. Review the operation and Terms of Reference of the Roads Committee after two years of its establishment.

Mal’s motion was:
That Mid Coast Council:
1. Absolve One Life Church Taree and their entities One Life Hope Shop and The Veterans Wellbeing Centre (One Life) of all and any costs in relation to the contaminated soil illegally supplied to and dispossessed of on One Life property, by a local contractor (A).
2. Pursue Contractor (A) or Contractor (A’s) owner/s or Director/s for all costs in relation to the contaminated soil illegally supplied to and dispossessed of on One Life property.
3. That all tipping fees regarding to the contaminated soil illegally supplied to and dispossessed of on One Life property be recorded and billed to Contractor (A) as part of dot points 1. and
4. Vary time frames for disposal of the contaminated soil to allow other earth works companies to legally remove and dispose of the contaminated fill within their work schedules.

The Floodplain Management Advisory Committee (FMAC) meeting notes were formally reported to the following Ordinary Council Meeting and are in the respective meeting Attachments Agenda on the website. The notes have now been individually added to the FMAC webpage for completeness.
