I'm working on some music for trailers for the US market. This '3 act' style is apparently popular at the moment.
The track should be no more than 2:30 and be written in three sections.
Act 1 - Set the mood. Light, atmospheric possibly eerie.
Act 2 - Add some energy. Drop in some stuttering, fast and high percussive elements and the occasional explosive drum hit.
Act 3 - Pedal to the metal. Driving rhythm with a build to a climactic ending.
Here's one I baked earlier.
